| 1 In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel. And they ravaged the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. | 3 And David sent and inquired about the woman. | 4 So David sent messengers and took her, and she came to him, and he lay with her. (Now she had been purifying herself from her uncleanness.) | 5 And the woman conceived, and she sent and told David, "I am pregnant." | 5 ആ സ്ത്രീ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു, താൻ ഗർഭിണി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ദാവീദിന്നു വർത്തമാനം അയച്ചു. | 5 और वह स्त्री गर्भवती हुई, तब दाऊद के पास कहला भेजा, कि मुझे गर्भ है। |

| 8 Then David said to Uriah, "Go down to your house and wash your feet." | 9 But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and did not go down to his house. | 9 ഊരീയാവോ തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പോകാതെ യജമാനന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരോടുംകൂടെ രാജധാനിയുടെ വാതിൽക്കൽ കിടന്നുറിങ്ങി. | 9 परन्तु ऊरिय्याह अपके स्वामी के सब सेवकोंके संग राजभवन के द्वार में लेट गया, और अपके घर न गया। |
| 10 When they told David, "Uriah did not go down to his house," David said to Uriah, "Have you not come from a journey? | 11 Uriah said to David, "The ark and Israel and Judah dwell in booths, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are camping in the open field. Shall I then go to my house, to eat and to drink and to lie with my wife? | 12 Then David said to Uriah, "Remain here today also, and tomorrow I will send you back." | 13 And David invited him, and he ate in his presence and drank, so that he made him drunk. And in the evening he went out to lie on his couch with the servants of his lord, but he did not go down to his house. | 13 പിറ്റെന്നാൾ ദാവീദ് അവനെ വിളിച്ചു; അവൻ അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തു; അവൻ അവനെ ലഹരിപിടിപ്പിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും അവൻ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോകാതെ സന്ധ്യക്കു ചെന്നു യജമാനന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ തന്റെ വിരിപ്പിൽ കിടന്നു. | 13 तब दाऊद ने उसे नेवता दिया, और उस ने उसके साम्हने खाया पिया, और उसी ने उसे मतवाला किया; और सांफ काो वह अपके स्वामी के सेवकोंके संग अपक्की चारपाई पर सोने को निकला, परन्तु अपके घर न गया। |
| 14 In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah. | 14 രാവിലെ ദാവീദ് യോവാബിന്നു ഒരു എഴുത്തു എഴുതി ഊരീയാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കൊടുത്തയച്ചു. | 14 बिहान को दाऊद ने योआब के नाम पर एक चिट्ठी लिखकर ऊरिय्याह के हाथ से भेजदी। |

| 17 And the men of the city came out and fought with Joab, and some of the servants of David among the people fell. Uriah the Hittite also died. | 17 പട്ടണക്കാർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു യോവാബിനോടു പട വെട്ടിയപ്പോൾ ദാവീദിന്റെ ചേവകരായ പടജ്ജനത്തിൽ ചിലർ പട്ടുപോയി; ഹിത്യനായ ഊരിയാവും മരിച്ചു. | 17 तब नगर के पुरुषोंने निकलकर योआब से युद्ध किया, और लागोंमें से, अर्यात् दाऊद के सेवकोंमें से कितने खेत आए; और उन में हित्ती ऊरिय्यह भी मर गया। |
| 18 Then Joab sent and told David all the news about the fighting. | 18 പിന്നെ യോവാബ് ആ യുദ്ധവർത്തമാനം ഒക്കെയും ദാവീദിനോടു അറിയിപ്പാൻ ആളയച്ചു. | 18 तब योआब ने भेजकर दाऊद को युद्ध का पूरा हाल बताया; |
| 19 And he instructed the messenger, "When you have finished telling all the news about the fighting to the king, | 19 അവൻ ദൂതനോടു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നീ യുദ്ധവർത്തമാനം ഒക്കെയും രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു തീരുമ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു: | 19 और दूत को आज्ञा दी, कि जब तू युद्धका पूरा हाल राजा को बता चुके, |
| 20 then, if the king's anger rises, and if he says to you, 'Why did you go so near the city to fight? Did you not know that they would shoot from the wall? | 20 നിങ്ങൾ പട്ടണത്തോടു ഇത്ര അടുത്തുചെന്നു പടവെട്ടിയതു എന്തു? മതിലിന്മേൽ നിന്നു അവർ എയ്യുമെന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടയോ? | 20 तब यदि राजा जलकर कहने लगे, कि तुम लाग लड़ने को नगर के ऐसे निकट क्योंगए? क्या तुम न जानते थे कि वे शहरपनाह पर से तीर छोड़ेंगे? |
| 21 Who killed Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? Did not a woman cast an upper millstone on him from the wall, so that he died at Thebez? | 22 So the messenger went and came and told David all that Joab had sent him to tell. | 22 ദൂതൻ ചെന്നു യോവാബ് പറഞ്ഞയച്ച വർത്തമാനമൊക്കെയും ദാവീദിനെ അറിയിച്ചു. | 22 तब दूत चल दिया, और जाकर दाऊद से योआब की सब बातें चर्णन कीं। |
| 23 The messenger said to David, "The men gained an advantage over us and came out against us in the field, but we drove them back to the entrance of the gate. | 23 ദൂതൻ ദാവീദിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: ആ കൂട്ടർ പ്രാബല്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു വെളിമ്പ്രദേശത്തേക്കു ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നതിനാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കലോളം അവരെ പിന്തുടർന്നടുത്തുപോയി. | 23 दूत ने दाऊद से कहा, कि वे लोग हम पर प्रबल होकर मैदान में हमारे पास निकल आए, फिर हम ने उन्हें फाटक तक खदेड़ा। |
| 24 Then the archers shot at your servants from the wall. | 25 David said to the messenger, "Thus shall you say to Joab, 'Do not let this matter trouble you, for the sword devours now one and now another. Strengthen your attack against the city and overthrow it.' | 26 When the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she lamented over her husband. | 26 ഊരീയാവിന്റെ ഭാര്യ തന്റെ ഭർത്താവായ ഊരീയാവു മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ഭർത്താവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിച്ചു. | 26 जब ऊरिय्याह की स्त्री ने सुना कि मेरा पति मर गया, तब वह अपके पति के लिथे रोने पीटते लगी। |
| 27 And when the mourning was over, David sent and brought her to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD. | 27 വിലാപകാലം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ദാവീദ് ആളയച്ചു അവളെ അരമനയിൽ വരുത്തി; അവൾ അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായി, അവന്നു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ദാവീദ് ചെയ്തതു യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായിരുന്നു. | 27 और जब उसके विलाप के दिन बीत चुके, तब दाऊद ने उसे बुलवाकर अपके घर में रख लिया, और वह उसकी पत्नी हो गई, और उसके पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ। परन्तु उस काम से जो दाऊद ने किया या यहोवा क्रोधित हुआ। |
