| 1 Ben-hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together. Thirty-two kings were with him, and horses and chariots. | 4 And the king of Israel answered, "As you say, my lord, O king, I am yours, and all that I have." | 4 അതിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു: എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, നീ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഞാനും എനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കുള്ളതു തന്നേ എന്നു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു. | 4 इस्राएल के राजा ने उसके पास कहला भेजा, हे मेरे प्रभु ! हे राजा ! तेरे वचन के अनुसार मैं और मेरा जो कुछ है, सब तेरा है। |
| 5 The messengers came again and said, "Thus says Ben-hadad: 'I sent to you, saying, "Deliver to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children." | 5 ദൂതന്മാർ വീണ്ടും വന്നു: ബെൻ-ഹദദ് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു: നിന്റെ വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും നിന്റെ ഭാര്യമാരെയും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും എനിക്കു തരേണമെന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചുവല്ലോ; | 5 उन्हीं दूतोंने फिर आकर कहा बेन्हदद तुझ से योंकहता है, कि मैं ने तेरे पास यह कहला भेजा या कि तुझे अपक्की चान्दी सोना और स्त्रियां और बालक भी मुझे देने पकेंगे। |
| 6 Nevertheless I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants and lay hands on whatever pleases you and take it away.'" | 6 നാളെ ഈ നേരത്തു ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കും; അവർ നിന്റെ അരമനയും നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ വീടുകളും ശോധനചെയ്തു നിനക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളതൊക്കെയും കൈക്കലാക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 6 परन्तु कल इसी समय मैं अपके कर्मचारियोंको तेरे पास भेजूंगा और वे तेरे और तेरे कर्मचारियोंके धरोंमें ढूंढ़-ढांढ़ करेंगे, और तेरी जो जो मनभावनी वस्तुएं निकालें उन्हें वे अपके अपके हाथ में लेकर आएंगे। |

| 9 So he said to the messengers of Ben-hadad, "Tell my lord the king, 'All that you first demanded of your servant I will do, but this thing I cannot do.'" | 10 Ben-hadad sent to him and said, "The gods do so to me and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me." | 10 ബെൻ-ഹദദ് അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള എല്ലാ പടജ്ജനത്തിന്നും കൈക്കു ഓരോ പിടിവാരുവാൻ ശമര്യയിലെ പൊടി മതിയാകുമെങ്കിൽ ദേവന്മാർ എന്നോടു തക്കവണ്ണവും അധികവും ചെയ്യട്ടേ എന്നു പറയിച്ചു. | 10 तब बेन्हदद ने अहाब के पास कहला भेजा, यदि शोमरोन में इतनी धूलि निकले कि मेरे सब पीछे चलनेहारोंकी मुट्ठी भर कर अट जाए तो देवता मेरे साय ऐसा ही वरन इस से भी अधिक करें। |
| 11 And the king of Israel answered, "Tell him, 'Let not him who straps on his armor boast himself like he who takes it off.'" | 11 അതിന്നു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു: വാൾ അരെക്കു കെട്ടുന്നവൻ അഴിച്ചുകളയുന്നവനെപ്പോലെ വമ്പുപറയരുതു എന്നു അവനോടു പറവിൻ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. | 11 इस्राएल के राजा ने उत्तर देकर कहा, उस से कहो, कि जो हयियार बान्धता हो वह उसकी नाई न फूले जो उन्हें उतारता हो। |
| 12 When Ben-hadad heard this message as he was drinking with the kings in the booths, he said to his men, "Take your positions." | 13 And behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel and said, "Thus says the LORD, Have you seen all this great multitude? | 14 And Ahab said, "By whom?" He said, "Thus says the LORD, By the servants of the governors of the districts." Then he said, "Who shall begin the battle?" He answered, "You." | 14 ആരെക്കൊണ്ടു എന്നു ആഹാബ് ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ: ദേശാധിപതികളുടെ ബാല്യക്കാരെക്കൊണ്ടു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ആർ പട തുടങ്ങേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: നീ തന്നേ എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. | 14 अहाब ने पूछा, किस के द्वारा? उस ने कहा यहोवा योंकहता है, कि प्रदेशोंके हाकिमोंके सेवकोंके द्वारा ! फिर उस ने पूछा, युद्ध को कौन आरम्भ करे? उस ने उत्तर दिया, तू ही। |
| 15 Then he mustered the servants of the governors of the districts, and they were 232. And after them he mustered all the people of Israel, seven thousand. | 15 അവൻ ദേശാധിപതികളുടെ ബാല്യക്കാരെ എണ്ണി നോക്കി; അവർ ഇരുനൂറ്റിമുപ്പത്തിരണ്ടുപേരായിരുന്നു. അവരുടെശേഷം അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ പടജ്ജനത്തെയൊക്കെയും എണ്ണി ഏഴായിരം പേർ എന്നു കണ്ടു. | 15 तब उस ने प्रदेशोंके हाकिमोंके सेवकोंकी गिनती ली, और वे दो सौ बत्तीस निकले; और उनके बाद उस ने सब इस्राएली लोगोंकी गिनती ली, और वे सात हजार निकले। |

| 17 The servants of the governors of the districts went out first. And Ben-hadad sent out scouts, and they reported to him, "Men are coming out from Samaria." | 17 ദേശാധിപതികളുടെ ബാല്യക്കാർ ആദ്യം പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ബെൻ-ഹദദ് ആളയച്ചു അന്വേഷിച്ചാറെ ശമര്യയിൽ നിന്നു ആളുകൾ വരുന്നുണ്ടെന്നു അറിവുകിട്ടി. | 17 प्रदेशोंके हाकिमोंके सेवक पहिले निकले। तब बेन्हदद ने दूत भेजे, और उन्होंने उस से कहा, शोमरोन से कुछ मनुष्य निकले आते हैं। |
| 18 He said, "If they have come out for peace, take them alive. | 19 So these went out of the city, the servants of the governors of the districts and the army that followed them. | 19 പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നതോ, ദേശാധിപതികളുടെ ബാല്യക്കാരും അവരെ തുടർന്നുപോന്ന സൈന്യവും ആയിരുന്നു. | 19 तब प्रदेशोंके हाकिमोंके सेवक और उनके पीछे की सेना के सिपाही नगर से निकले। |
| 20 And each struck down his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them, but Ben-hadad king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen. | 20 അവർ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ നേരെ വരുന്നവനെ കൊന്നു; അരാമ്യർ ഓടിപ്പോയി; യിസ്രായേൽ അവരെ പിന്തുടർന്നു; അരാം രാജാവായ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി കുതിരച്ചേവകരോടുകൂടെ ചാടിപ്പോയി. | 20 तौर वे अपके अपके साम्हने के पुरुष को पारने लगे; और अरामी भागे, और इस्राएल ने उनका पीछा किया, और अराम का राजा बेन्हदद, सवारोंके संग घोड़े पर चढ़ा, और भागकर बच गया। |

| 22 Then the prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him, "Come, strengthen yourself, and consider well what you have to do, for in the spring the king of Syria will come up against you." | 22 അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ആ പ്രവാചകൻ യിസ്രായേൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു: ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നു നീ ചെയ്യുന്നതു കരുതിക്കൊൾക; ഇനിയത്തെ ആണ്ടിൽ അരാംരാജാവു നിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 22 तब उस नबी ने इस्राएल के राजा के पास जाकर कहा, जाकर लड़ाई के लिथे अपके को दृढ़ कर, और सचेत होकर सोच, कि क्या करना है, क्योंकि नथे वर्ष के लगते ही अराम का राजा फिर तुझ पर चढ़ाई करेगा। |
| 23 And the servants of the king of Syria said to him, "Their gods are gods of the hills, and so they were stronger than we. But let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. | 23 അരാംരാജാവിനോടു അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞതു: അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാർ പർവ്വതദേവന്മാരാകുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടത്രെ അവർ നമ്മെ തോല്പിച്ചതു; സമഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു അവരോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്താൽ നാം അവരെ തോല്പിക്കും. | 23 तब अराम के राजा के कर्मचारियोंने उस से कहा, उन लोगोंका देवता पहाड़ी देवता है, इस कारण वे हम पर प्रबल हुए; इसलिथे हम उन से चौरस भूमि पर लड़ें तो निश्चय हम उन पर प्रबल हो जाएंगे। |
| 24 And do this: remove the kings, each from his post, and put commanders in their places, | 24 അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ ഒരു കാര്യം ചെയ്യേണം: ആ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ അവനവന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്നു മാറ്റി അവർക്കു പകരം ദേശാധിപതിമാരെ നിയമിക്കേണം. | 24 और यह भी काम कर, अर्यात् सब राजाओं का पद ले ले, और उनके स्यान पर सेनापतियोंको ठहरा दे। |
| 25 and muster an army like the army that you have lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot. Then we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they." | 26 In the spring, Ben-hadad mustered the Syrians and went up to Aphek to fight against Israel. | 26 പിറ്റെ ആണ്ടിൽ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് അരാമ്യരെ എണ്ണിനോക്കി യിസ്രായേലിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്‍വാൻ അഫേക്കിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു. | 26 और नथे वर्ष के लगते ही बेन्हदद ने अरामियोंको इकट्ठा किया, और इस्राएल से लड़ने के लिथे अपेक को गया। |
| 27 And the people of Israel were mustered and were provisioned and went against them. | 28 And a man of God came near and said to the king of Israel, "Thus says the LORD, 'Because the Syrians have said, "The LORD is a god of the hills but he is not a god of the valleys," therefore I will give all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.'" | 28 ഒരു ദൈവപുരുഷൻ അടുത്തുവന്നു യിസ്രായേൽ രാജാവിനോടു: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: യഹോവ പർവ്വതദേവനാകുന്നു; താഴ്വരദേവനല്ല എന്നു അരാമ്യർ പറകകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഈ മഹാസംഘത്തെ ഒക്കെയും നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും; ഞാൻ യഹോവ തന്നേ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 28 तब परमेश्वर के उसी जन ने इस्राएल के राजा के पास जाकर कहा, यहोवा योंकहता है, अरामियोंने यह कहा है, कि यहोवा पहाड़ी देवता है, परन्तु नीची भूमि का नहीं है; इस कारण मैं उस बड़ी भीड़ को तेरे हाथ में कर दूंगा, तब तुम्हें बोध हो जाएगा कि मैं यहोवा हूँ। |
| 29 And they encamped opposite one another seven days. Then on the seventh day the battle was joined. | 30 And the rest fled into the city of Aphek, and the wall fell upon 27,000 men who were left. | 31 And his servants said to him, "Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Let us put sackcloth around our waists and ropes on our heads and go out to the king of Israel. | 32 So they tied sackcloth around their waists and put ropes on their heads and went to the king of Israel and said, "Your servant Ben-hadad says, 'Please, let me live.'" And he said, "Does he still live? | 33 Now the men were watching for a sign, and they quickly took it up from him and said, "Yes, your brother Ben-hadad." Then he said, "Go and bring him." | 34 And Ben-hadad said to him, "The cities that my father took from your father I will restore, and you may establish bazaars for yourself in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria." And Ahab said, "I will let you go on these terms." | 35 And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow at the command of the LORD, "Strike me, please." | 36 Then he said to him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as you have gone from me, a lion shall strike you down." | 37 Then he found another man and said, "Strike me, please." | 40 And as your servant was busy here and there, he was gone." | 41 Then he hurried to take the bandage away from his eyes, and the king of Israel recognized him as one of the prophets. | 41 തൽക്ഷണം അവൻ കണ്ണിന്മേൽ നിന്നു തലപ്പാവു നീക്കി; അപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെന്നു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു അറിഞ്ഞു. | 41 नबी ने फट अपक्की आंखोंसे पगड़ी उठाई, तब इस्राएल के राजा ने उसे पहिचान लिया, कि वह कोई नबी है। |
| 42 And he said to him, "Thus says the LORD, 'Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life shall be for his life, and your people for his people.'" | 42 അവൻ അവനോടു: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നാശത്തിന്നായിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിയമിച്ച ആളെ നീ വിട്ടയച്ചുകളകകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ജീവൻ അവന്റെ ജീവന്നും നിന്റെ ജനം അവന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നും പകരമായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 42 तब उस ने राजा से कहा, यहोवा तुझ से योंकहता है, इसलिथे कि तू ने अपके हाथ से ऐसे ऐक मनुष्य को जाने दिया, जिसे मैं ने सत्यानाश हो जाने को ठहराया या, तुझे उसके प्राण की सन्ती अपना प्राण और उसकी प्रजा की सन्ती, अपक्की प्रजा देनी पकेगी। |
| 43 And the king of Israel went to his house vexed and sullen and came to Samaria. | 43 അതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു വ്യസനവും നീരസവും ഉള്ളവനായി അരമനയിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ശമര്യയിൽ എത്തി. | 43 तब इस्राएल का राजा उदास और अप्रसन्न होकर घर की ओर जला, और शोमरोन को आया। |
