| 2 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, yet not as the kings of Israel who were before him. | 2 അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; തനിക്കു മുമ്പുള്ള യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അല്ലതാനും. | 2 उस ने वही किया जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा या, परन्तु इस्राएल के उन राजाओं के बराबर नहीं जो उस से पहिले थे। |
| 3 Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria. | 4 But the king of Assyria found treachery in Hoshea, for he had sent messengers to So, king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year. | 5 Then the king of Assyria invaded all the land and came to Samaria, and for three years he besieged it. | 5 അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു രാജ്യത്തു എല്ലാടവും കൂടി കടന്നു ശമർയ്യയിലേക്കു വന്നു അതിനെ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം നിരോധിച്ചു. | 5 तब अश्शूर के राजा ने पूरे देश पर चढ़ाई की, और शोमरोन को जाकर तीन वर्ष तक उसे घेरे रहा। |

| 9 And the people of Israel did secretly against the LORD their God things that were not right. | 10 They set up for themselves pillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree, | 10 അവർ ഉയർന്ന കുന്നിന്മേലൊക്കെയും പച്ചവൃക്ഷത്തിൻ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും വിഗ്രഹസ്തംഭങ്ങളും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. | 10 और सब ऊंची पहाडिय़ोंपर, और सब हरे वुझोंके तले लाठें और अशेरा खड़े कर लिए। |
| 11 and there they made offerings on all the high places, as the nations did whom the LORD carried away before them. | 14 But they would not listen, but were stubborn, as their fathers had been, who did not believe in the LORD their God. | 14 എങ്കിലും അവർ കേൾക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്ന പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിച്ചു, | 14 परन्तु उन्होंने न माना, वरन अपके उन पुरखाओं की नाई, जिन्होंने अपके परमेश्वर यहोवा का विश्वास न किया या, वे भी हठीले बन गए। |
| 15 They despised his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers and the warnings that he gave them. | 18 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but the tribe of Judah only. | 18 അതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു ഏറ്റവും കോപിച്ചു അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; യെഹൂദാഗോത്രം മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല. | 18 इस कारण यहोवा इस्राएल से अति क्रोधित हुआ, और उन्हें अपके साम्हने से दूर कर दिया; यहूदा का गोत्र छोड़ और कोई बचा न रहा। |
| 19 Judah also did not keep the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the customs that Israel had introduced. | 19 യെഹൂദയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ യിസ്രായേൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നു. | 19 यहूदा ने भी अपके परमेश्वर यहोवा की आज्ञाएं न मानीं, वरन जो विधियां इस्राएल ने चलाई यीं, उन पर चलने लगे। |
| 20 And the LORD rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and gave them into the hand of plunderers, until he had cast them out of his sight. | 20 ആകയാൽ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽസന്തതിയെ മുഴുവനും തള്ളി അവരെ താഴ്ത്തി, കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു, ഒടുവിൽ അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു. | 20 तब यहोवा ने इस्राएल की सारी सन्तान को छोड़ कर, उनको दु:ख दिया, और लूटनेवालोंके हाथ कर दिया, और अन्त में उन्हें अपके साम्हने से निकाल दिया। |
| 21 When he had torn Israel from the house of David, they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king. | 22 The people of Israel walked in all the sins that Jeroboam did. They did not depart from them, | 22 അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യൊരോബെയാം ചെയ്ത സകലപാപങ്ങളിലും നടന്നു. | 22 सो जैसे पाप यारोबाम ने किए थे, वैसे ही पाप इस्राएली भी करते रहे, और उन से अलग न हुए। |
| 23 until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had spoken by all his servants the prophets. | 24 And the king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the people of Israel. | 25 And at the beginning of their dwelling there, they did not fear the LORD. | 26 So the king of Assyria was told, "The nations that you have carried away and placed in the cities of Samaria do not know the law of the god of the land. | 37 And the statutes and the rules and the law and the commandment that he wrote for you, you shall always be careful to do. | 41 So these nations feared the LORD and also served their carved images.
