| 1 Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. | 3 Jehoiada got for him two wives, and he had sons and daughters. | 3 യെഹോയാദാ അവന്നു രണ്ടു ഭാര്യമാരെ വിവാഹം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; അവൻ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. | 3 और यहसेयादा ने उसके दो ब्याह कराए और उस से बेटे-बेटियां उत्पन्न हुई। |
| 4 After this Joash decided to restore the house of the LORD. | 4 അനന്തരം യോവാശ് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർപ്പാൻ മനസ്സുവെച്ചു. | 4 इसके बाद योआश के मन में यहोवा के भवन की मरम्मत करने की मनसा उपक्की। |
| 5 And he gathered the priests and the Levites and said to them, "Go out to the cities of Judah and gather from all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that you act quickly." | 6 So the king summoned Jehoiada the chief and said to him, "Why have you not required the Levites to bring in from Judah and Jerusalem the tax levied by Moses, the servant of the LORD, and the congregation of Israel for the tent of testimony?" | 6 ആകയാൽ രാജാവു തലവനായ യെഹോയാദയെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടു: സാക്ഷ്യകൂടാരത്തിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പിരിവു യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നും കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ നീ ലേവ്യരോടും യിസ്രായേൽസഭയോടും ആവശ്യപ്പെടാതിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? | 6 तब राजा ने यहोयादा महाथाजक को बुलवा कर पूछा, क्या कारण है कि तू ने लेवियोंको दृढ़ आज्ञा नहीं दी कि वे यहूदा और यरूशलेम से उस चन्दे के रुपए ले आएं जिसका नियम यहोवा के दास मूसा और इस्राएल की मण्डली ने साझीपत्र के तम्बू के निमित्त चलाया या। |
| 7 For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken into the house of God, and had also used all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD for the Baals. | 7 ദുഷ്ടസ്ത്രീയായ അഥല്യയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ ദൈവാലയം പൊളിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ സകലനിവേദിതങ്ങളെയും ബാൽവിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾക്കു കൊടുത്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 7 उस दुष्ट स्त्री अतल्याह के बेटोंने तो परमेश्वर के भवन को तोड़ दिया और यहोवा के भवन की सब पवित्र की हुई वस्तुएं बाल देवताओं को दे दी यीं। |
| 8 So the king commanded, and they made a chest and set it outside the gate of the house of the LORD. | 8 അങ്ങനെ അവർ രാജകല്പനപ്രകാരം ഒരു പെട്ടകം ഉണ്ടാക്കി യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കൽ പുറത്തുവെച്ചു. | 8 और राजा ने एक सन्दूक बनाने की आज्ञा दी और वह यहोवा के भवन के फाटक के पास बाहर रखा गया। |
| 9 And proclamation was made throughout Judah and Jerusalem to bring in for the LORD the tax that Moses the servant of God laid on Israel in the wilderness. | 9 ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വെച്ചു യിസ്രായേലിന്മേൽ ചുമത്തിയ പിരിവു യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ അവർ യെഹൂദയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും പരസ്യം ചെയ്തു. | 9 तब यहूदा और यरूशलेम में यह प्रचार किया गया कि जिस चन्दे का नियम परमेश्वर के दास मूसा ने जंगल में इस्राएल में चलाया या, उसके रुपए यहोवा के निमित्त ले आओ। |
| 10 And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished. | 10 സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും സർവ്വ ജനവും സന്തോഷിച്ചു; കാര്യം തീരുംവരെ അവർ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പെട്ടകത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു. | 10 तो सब हाकिम और प्रजा के सब लोग आनन्दित हो रुपए लाकर जब तक चन्दा पूरा न हुआ तब तक सन्दूक में डालते गए। |
| 11 And whenever the chest was brought to the king's officers by the Levites, when they saw that there was much money in it, the king's secretary and the officer of the chief priest would come and empty the chest and take it and return it to its place. Thus they did day after day, and collected money in abundance. | 11 ലേവ്യർ പെട്ടകം എടുത്തു രാജാവിന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന സമയം ദ്രവ്യം വളരെ ഉണ്ടെന്നു കണ്ടാൽ രാജാവിന്റെ രായസക്കാരനും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ കാര്യസ്ഥനും വന്നു പെട്ടകം ഒഴിക്കയും പിന്നെയും എടുത്തു അതിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു വെക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ ദിവസംപ്രതി ചെയ്തു ബഹുദ്രവ്യം ശേഖരിച്ചു. | 11 और जब जब वह सन्दूक लेवियोंके हाथ से राजा के प्रधानोंके पास पहुंचाया जाता और यह जान पड़ता या कि उस में रुपए बहुत हैं, तब तब राजा के प्रधान और महाथाजक का नाइब आकर सन्दूक को खाली करते और तब उसे फिर उसके स्यान पर रख देते थे। उन्होंने प्रतिदिन ऐसा किया और बहुत रुपए इाट्ठा किए। |
| 12 And the king and Jehoiada gave it to those who had charge of the work of the house of the LORD, and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, and also workers in iron and bronze to repair the house of the LORD. | 12 രാജാവും യെഹോയാദയും അതു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ വേല ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നവർക്കു കൊടുത്തു; അവർ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർപ്പാൻ കല്പണിക്കാരെയും ആശാരികളെയും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം കേടുപോക്കുവാൻ ഇരിമ്പും താമ്രവുംകൊണ്ടു പണിചെയ്യുന്നവരെയും കൂലിക്കു വെച്ചു. | 12 तब राजा और यहोयादा ने वह रुपए यहोवा के भवन में काम करनेवालोंको दे दिए, और उन्होंने राजोंऔर बढ़इयोंको यहोवा के भवन के सुधारने के लिथे, और लोहारोंऔर ठठेरोंको यहोवा के भवन की मरम्मत करने के लिथे मजदूरी पर रखा। |
| 13 So those who were engaged in the work labored, and the repairing went forward in their hands, and they restored the house of God to its proper condition and strengthened it. | 13 അങ്ങനെ പണിക്കാർ വേല ചെയ്തു അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർത്തു ദൈവാലയം യഥാസ്ഥാനത്താക്കി ഉറപ്പിച്ചു. | 13 और कारीगर काम करते गए और काम पूरा होता गया और उन्होंने परमेश्वर का भवन जैसा का तैसा बनाकर दृढ़ कर दिया। |
| 14 And when they had finished, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, and with it were made utensils for the house of the LORD, both for the service and for the burnt offerings, and dishes for incense and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD regularly all the days of Jehoiada. | 14 പണിതീർത്തിട്ടു ശേഷിച്ച ദ്രവ്യം അവർ രാജാവിന്റെയും യെഹോയാദയുടെയും മുമ്പിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവർ അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം വകെക്കു ഉപകരണങ്ങളുണ്ടാക്കി; ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കായും ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നായുമുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങളും തവികളും പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങളും തന്നേ; അവർ യെഹോയാദയുടെ കാലത്തൊക്കെയും ഇടവിടാതെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ഹോമയാഗം അർപ്പിച്ചുപോന്നു. | 14 जब उन्होंने वह काम निपटा दिया, तब वे शेष रुपए राजा और यहोयादा के पास ले गए, और उन से यहोवा के भवन के लिथे पात्र बनाए गए, अर्यात् सेवा टहल करने और होमबलि चढ़ाने के पात्र और धूपदान आदि सोने चान्दी के पात्र। और जब तक यहोयादा जीवित रहा, तब तक यहोवा के भवन में होमबलि नित्य चढ़ाए जाते थे। |
| 15 But Jehoiada grew old and full of days, and died. He was 130 years old at his death. | 15 യെഹോയാദാ വയോധികനും കാലസമ്പൂർണ്ണനുമായി മരിച്ചു; മരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവന്നു നൂറ്റിമുപ്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; | 15 परन्तु यहोयादा बूढ़ा हो गया और दीर्घायु होकर मर गया। जब वह मर गया तब एक सौ तीस वर्ष का या। |
| 16 And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and his house. | 16 അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും അവന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്റെയും കാര്യത്തിൽ നന്മ ചെയ്തിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവർ അവനെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു. | 16 और दाऊदपुर में राजाओं के बीच उसको मिट्टी दी गई, क्योंकि उस ने इस्राएल में और परमेश्वर के और उसके भवन के विषय में भला किया या। |
| 17 Now after the death of Jehoiada the princes of Judah came and paid homage to the king. | 18 And they abandoned the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs. | 18 അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠളെയും വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും സേവിച്ചു; അവരുടെ ഈ കുറ്റം ഹേതുവായിട്ടു യെഹൂദയുടെമേലും യെരൂശലേമിന്മേലും കോപം വന്നു. | 18 तब वे अपके पितरोंके परमेश्वर यहोवा का भवन छोड़कर अशेरोंऔर मूरतोंकी उपासना करने लगे। सो उनके ऐसे दोषी होने के कारण परमेश्वर का क्रोध यहूदा और यरूशलेम पर भड़का। |
| 19 Yet he sent prophets among them to bring them back to the LORD. These testified against them, but they would not pay attention. | 19 അവരെ യഹോവയിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിച്ചുവരുത്തുവാൻ അവൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; അവർ അവരോടു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും അവർ ചെവികൊടുത്തില്ല. | 19 तौभी उस ने उनके पास नबी भेजे कि उनको यहोवा के पास फेर लाएं; और इन्होंने उन्हें चिता दिया, परन्तु उन्होंने कान न लगाया। |
| 20 Then the Spirit of God clothed Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stood above the people, and said to them, "Thus says God, 'Why do you break the commandments of the LORD, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, he has forsaken you.'" | 20 എന്നാറെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതന്റെ മകനായ സെഖർയ്യാവിന്റെ മേൽ വന്നു; അവൻ ജനത്തിന്നെതിരെ നിന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ദൈവം ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾക്കു ശുഭം വരുവാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനകളെ ലംഘിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ നിങ്ങളെയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. | 20 और परमेश्वर का आत्मा यहोयादा याजक के पुत्र जकर्याह में समा गया, और वह ऊंचे स्यन पर खड़ा होकर लोगोंसे कहने लगा, परमेश्वर योंकहता है, कि तुम यहोवा की आज्ञाओं को क्योंटालते हो? ऐसा करके तुम भाग्यवान नहीं हो सकते, देखो, तुम ने तो यहोवा को त्याग दिया है, इस कारण उस ने भी तुम को त्याग दिया। |
| 21 But they conspired against him, and by command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the LORD. | 21 എന്നാൽ അവർ അവന്റെ നേരെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരത്തിൽവെച്ചു അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു. | 21 तब लोगोंने उस से द्रोह की गोष्ठी करके, राजा की आज्ञा से यहोवा के भवन के आंगन में उसको पत्यरवाह किया। |
| 22 Thus Joash the king did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada, Zechariah's father, had shown him, but killed his son. And when he was dying, he said, "May the LORD see and avenge!" | 22 അങ്ങനെ യോവാശ്‌രാജാവു അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ യെഹോയാദാ തനിക്കു ചെയ്ത ദയ ഓർക്കാതെ അവന്റെ മകനെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; അവൻ മരിക്കുമ്പോൾ: യഹോവ നോക്കി ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 22 योंराजा योआश ने वह प्रीति भूलकर जो यहोयादा ने उस से की यी, उसके पुत्र को घात किया। और मरते समय उस ने कहा यहोवा इस पर दृष्टि करके इसका लेखा ले। |
| 23 At the end of the year the army of the Syrians came up against Joash. They came to Judah and Jerusalem and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people and sent all their spoil to the king of Damascus. | 23 ആയാണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അരാമ്യസൈന്യം അവന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ യെഹൂദയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും വന്നു ജനത്തിന്റെ സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചു കൊള്ള ഒക്കെയും ദമ്മേശെക്‌രാജാവിന്നു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു. | 23 तथे वर्ष के लगते अरामियोंकी सेना ने उस पर चढ़ाई की, और यहूदा ओर यरूशलेम आकर प्रजा में से सब हाकिमोंको नाश किया और उनका सब धन लूटकर दमिश्क के राजा के पास भेजा। |
| 24 Though the army of the Syrians had come with few men, the LORD delivered into their hand a very great army, because Judah had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers. Thus they executed judgment on Joash. | 24 അരാമ്യസൈന്യം ആൾ ചുരൂക്കമായിട്ടു വന്നിരുന്നെങ്കിലും യഹോവ അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയോരു സൈന്യത്തെ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നുവല്ലോ. ഇങ്ങനെ യോവാശിനോടു അവർ ന്യായവിധി നടത്തി. | 24 अरामियोंकी सेना थेड़े ही पुरुषोंकी तो आई, पन्तु यहोवा ने एक बहुत बड़ी सेना उनके हाथ कर दी, क्योंकि उन्होंने अपके पितरो के परमेश्वा को त्याग दिया य। और योआश को भी उन्होंने दणड दिया। |
| 25 When they had departed from him, leaving him severely wounded, his servants conspired against him because of the blood of the son of Jehoiada the priest, and killed him on his bed. | 26 Those who conspired against him were Zabad the son of Shimeath the Ammonite, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith the Moabite. | 26 അവന്റെ നേരെ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കിയവരോ, അമ്മോന്യസ്ത്രീയായ ശിമെയാത്തിന്റെ മകൻ സാബാദും മോവാബ്യസ്ത്രീയായ ശിമ്രീത്തിന്റെ മകൻ യെഹോസാബാദും തന്നേ. | 26 जिन्होंने उस से राजद्रोह की गोष्ठी की, वे थे थे, अर्यात् अम्मोनिन, शिमात का पुत्र जाबाद और शिम्रित, मोआबिन का पुत्र यहोजाबाद। |
