| 1 But all this I laid to heart, examining it all, how the righteous and the wise and their deeds are in the hand of God. Whether it is love or hate, man does not know; both are before him. | 1 ഇതൊക്കെയും, നീതിമാന്മാരും ജ്ഞാനികളും അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും തന്നേ, ശോധനചെയ്‍വാൻ ഞാൻ മനസ്സുവെച്ചു; സ്നേഹമാകട്ടെ ദ്വേഷമാകട്ടെ ഒന്നും മനുഷ്യൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല; സർവ്വവും അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു താനും. | 1 यह सब कुछ मैं ने मन लगाकर विचारा कि इन सब बातोंका भेद पाऊं, कि किस प्रकार धर्मी और बुद्धिमान लाग और उनके काम परमेश्वर के हाथ में हैं; मनुष्य के आगे सब प्रकार की बातें हैं परन्तु वह नहीं जानता कि वह प्रेम है व बैर। |
| 2 It is the same for all, since the same event happens to the righteous and the wicked, to the good and the evil, to the clean and the unclean, to him who sacrifices and him who does not sacrifice. As is the good, so is the sinner, and he who swears is as he who shuns an oath. | 2 എല്ലാവർക്കും എല്ലാം ഒരുപോലെ സംഭവിക്കുന്നു; നീതിമാന്നും ദുഷ്ടന്നും നല്ലവന്നും നിർമ്മലന്നും മലിനന്നും യാഗം കഴിക്കുന്നവനും യാഗം കഴിക്കാത്തവന്നും ഒരേ ഗതി വരുന്നു; പാപിയും നല്ലവനും ആണ പേടിക്കുന്നവനും ആണയിടുന്നവനും ഒരുപോലെ ആകുന്നു. | 2 सब बातें सभोंको एक समान होती है, धर्मी हो या दुष्ट, भले, शुद्ध या अशुद्ध, यज्ञ करने और न करनेवाले, सभोंकी दशा एक ही सी होती है। जैसी भले मनुष्य की दशा, वैसी ही पापी की दशा; जैसी शपय खानेवाले की दशा, वैसी ही उसकी जो शपय खाने से डरता है। |
| 3 This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that the same event happens to all. Also, the hearts of the children of man are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead. | 3 എല്ലാവർക്കും ഒരേഗതി വരുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു സൂര്യന്റെ കീഴിൽ നടക്കുന്ന എല്ലാറ്റിലും ഒരു തിന്മയത്രേ; മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിലും ദോഷം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ജീവപര്യന്തം അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഭ്രാന്തു ഉണ്ടു; അതിന്റെ ശേഷമോ അവർ മരിച്ചവരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു പോകുന്നു. | 3 जो कुछ सूर्य के नीचे किया जाता है उस में यह एक दोष है कि सब लोगोंकी एक सी दशा होती है; और मनुष्योंके मनोंमें बुराई भरी हुई है, और जब तक वे जीवित रहते हैं उनके मन में बावलापन रहता है, और उसके बाद वे मरे हुओं में जा मिलते हैं। |
| 4 But he who is joined with all the living has hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion. | 4 ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഉള്ളവന്നൊക്കെയും പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു; ചത്ത സിംഹത്തെക്കാൾ ജീവനുള്ള നായ് നല്ലതല്ലോ. | 4 उसको परन्तु जो सब जीवतोंमें है, उसे आशा है, क्योंकि जीवता कुत्ता मरे हुए सिंह से बढ़कर है। |
| 5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. | 5 ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർ തങ്ങൾ മരിക്കും എന്നറിയുന്നു; മരിച്ചവരോ ഒന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല; മേലാൽ അവർക്കു ഒരു പ്രതിഫലവും ഇല്ല; അവരെ ഓർമ്മ വിട്ടുപോകുന്നുവല്ലോ. | 5 क्योंकि जीवते तो इतना जानते हैं कि वे मरेंगे, परन्तु मरे हुए कुछ भी नहीं जानते, और न उनको कुछ और बदला मिल सकता है, क्योंकि उनका स्मरण मिट गया है। |
| 6 Their love and their hate and their envy have already perished, and forever they have no more share in all that is done under the sun. | 6 അവരുടെ സ്നേഹവും ദ്വേഷവും അസൂയയും നശിച്ചുപോയി; സൂര്യന്നു കീഴെ നടക്കുന്ന യാതൊന്നിലും അവർക്കു ഇനി ഒരിക്കലും ഓഹരിയില്ല. | 6 उनका प्रेम और उनका बैर और उनकी डाह नाश हो चुकी, और अब जो कुछ सूर्य के नीचे किया जाता है उस में सदा के लिथे उनका और कोई भाग न होगा।। |
| 7 Go, eat your bread in joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do. | 7 നീ ചെന്നു സന്തോഷത്തോടുകൂടെ അപ്പം തിന്നുക; ആനന്ദഹൃദയത്തോടെ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്ക ദൈവം നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളിൽ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. | 7 अपके मार्ग पर चला जा, अपक्की रोटी आनन्द से खाया कर, और मन में सुख मानकर अपना दाखमधु पिया कर; क्योंकि परमेश्वर तेरे कामोंसे प्रसन्न हो चुका है।। |
| 8 Let your garments be always white. Let not oil be lacking on your head. | 8 നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എല്ലായ്പോഴും വെള്ളയായിരിക്കട്ടെ; നിന്റെ തലയിൽ എണ്ണ കുറയാതിരിക്കട്ടെ. | 8 तेरे वस्त्र सदा उजले रहें, और तेरे सिर पर तेल की घटी न हो।। |
| 9 Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your vain life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun. | 9 സൂര്യന്നു കീഴെ അവൻ നിനക്കു നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന മായയായുള്ള ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊക്കെയും നീ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ഭാര്യയോടുകൂടെ മായയായുള്ള നിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലമെല്ലാം സുഖിച്ചുകൊൾക; അതല്ലോ ഈ ആയുസ്സിലും സൂര്യന്റെ കീഴിൽ നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രയത്നത്തിലും നിനക്കുള്ള ഓഹരി. | 9 अपके व्यर्य जीवन के सारे दिन जो उस ने सूर्य के नीचे तेरे लिथे ठहराए हैं अपक्की प्यारी पत्नी के संग में बिताना, क्योंकि तेरे जीवन और तेरे परिश्र्म में जो तू सूर्य के नीचे करता है तेरा यही भाग है। |
| 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going. | 10 ചെയ്‍വാൻ നിനക്കു സംഗതിവരുന്നതൊക്കെയും ശക്തിയോടെ ചെയ്ക; നീ ചെല്ലുന്ന പാതാളത്തിൽ പ്രവൃത്തിയോ സൂത്രമോ, അറിവോ, ജ്ഞാനമോ ഒന്നും ഇല്ല. | 10 जो काम तुझे मिले उसे अपक्की शक्ति भर करना, क्योंकि अधोलोक में जहां तू जानेवाला है, न काम न युक्ति न ज्ञान और न बुद्धि है।। |
| 11 Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all. | 11 പിന്നെയും ഞാൻ സൂര്യന്നു കീഴെ കണ്ടതു: വേഗതയുള്ളവർ ഓട്ടത്തിലും വീരന്മാർ യുദ്ധത്തിലും നേടുന്നില്ല; ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കു ആഹാരവും വിവേകികൾക്കു സമ്പത്തും സാമർത്ഥ്യമുള്ളവർക്കു പ്രീതിയും ലഭിക്കുന്നില്ല; അവർക്കൊക്കെയും കാലവും ഗതിയും അത്രേ ലഭിക്കുന്നതു. | 11 फिर मैं ने धरती पर देखा कि न तो दौड़ में वेग दौड़नेवाले और न युद्ध में शूरवीर जीतते; न बुद्धिमान लोग रोटी पाते न समझवाले धन, और न प्रवीणोंपर अनुग्रह होता है, वे सब समय और संयोग के वश में है। |
| 12 For man does not know his time. Like fish that are taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them. | 12 മനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ കാലം അറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; വല്ലാത്ത വലയിൽ പിടിപെടുന്ന മത്സ്യങ്ങളെപ്പോലെയും കണിയിൽ അകപ്പെടുന്ന പക്ഷികളെപ്പോലെയും മനുഷ്യർ, പെട്ടെന്നു വന്നു കൂടുന്ന ദുഷ്കാലത്തു കണിയിൽ കുടുങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു. | 12 क्योंकि मनुष्य अपना समय नहीं जानता। जैसे मछलियां दुखदाई जाल में बफती और चिडिय़े फन्दे में फंसती हैं, वैसे ही मनुष्य दुखदाई समय में जो उन पर अचानक आ पड़ता है, फंस जाते हैं।। |
| 13 I have also seen this example of wisdom under the sun, and it seemed great to me. | 13 ഞാൻ സൂര്യന്നു കീഴെ ഇങ്ങനെയും ജ്ഞാനം കണ്ടു; അതു എനിക്കു വലുതായി തോന്നി; | 13 मैं ने सूर्य के नीचे इस प्रकार की बुद्धि की बात भी देखी है, जो मुझे बड़ी जान पक्की। |
| 14 There was a little city with few men in it, and a great king came against it and besieged it, building great siegeworks against it. | 14 ചെറിയോരു പട്ടണം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതിൽ മനുഷ്യർ ചുരുക്കമായിരുന്നു; വലിയോരു രാജാവു അതിന്റെ നേരെ വന്നു, അതിനെ നിരോധിച്ചു, അതിന്നെതിരെ വലിയ കൊത്തളങ്ങൾ പണിതു. | 14 एक छोटा सा नगर या, जिस में योड़े ही लोग थे; और किसी बड़े राजा ने उस पर चढ़ाई करके उसे घेर लिया, और उसके विरूद्ध बड़े बड़े घुस बनवाए। |
| 15 But there was found in it a poor, wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that poor man. | 15 എന്നാൽ അവിടെ സാധുവായോരു ജ്ഞാനി പാർത്തിരുന്നു; അവൻ തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്താൽ പട്ടണത്തെ രക്ഷിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും ആ സാധുമനുഷ്യനെ ആരും ഓർത്തില്ല. | 15 परन्तु उस में एक दरिद्र बुद्धिमान पुरूष पाया गया, और उस ने उस नगर को अपक्की बुद्धि के द्वारा बचाया। तौभी किसी ने उस दरिद्र का स्मरण न रखा। |
| 16 But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man's wisdom is despised and his words are not heard. | 16 ജ്ഞാനം ബലത്തെക്കാൾ നല്ലതു തന്നേ, എങ്കിലും സാധുവിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം തുച്ഛീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; അവന്റെ വാക്കു ആരും കൂട്ടാക്കുന്നതുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. | 16 तब मैं ने कहा, यद्यपि दरिद्र की बुद्धि तुच्छ समझी जाती है और उसका वचन कोई नहीं सुनता तौभी पराक्रम से बुद्धि उत्तम है। |
| 17 The words of the wise heard in quiet are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools. | 17 മൂഢന്മാരെ ഭരിക്കുന്നവന്റെ അട്ടഹാസത്തെക്കാൾ സാവധാനത്തിൽ പറയുന്ന ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ വചനങ്ങൾ നല്ലതു. | 17 बुद्धिमानोंके वचन जो धीमे धीमे कहे जाते हैं वे मूर्खोंके बीच प्रभुता करनेवाले के चिल्ला चिल्लाकर कहने से अधिक सुने जाते हैं। |
| 18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good. | 18 യുദ്ധായുധങ്ങളെക്കാളും ജ്ഞാനം നല്ലതു; എന്നാൽ ഒരൊറ്റ പാപി വളരെ നന്മ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുന്നു. | 18 लड़ाई के हयियारोंसे बुद्धि उत्तम है, परन्तु एक पापी बहुत भलाई नाश करता है।। |
