| 5 In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah, of the division of Abijah. | 10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense. | 10 ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്ന നാഴികയിൽ ജനസമൂഹം ഒക്കെയും പുറത്തു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. | 10 और धूप जलाने के समय लोगोंकी सारी मण्डली बाहर प्रार्यना कर रही यी। |
| 11 And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. | 11 അപ്പോൾ കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ ധൂപപീഠത്തിന്റെ വലത്തു ഭാഗത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നവനായിട്ടു അവന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി. | 11 कि प्रभु का एक स्वर्गदूत धूप की वेदी की दिहनी ओर खड़ा हुआ उस को दिखाई दिया। |
| 12 And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him. | 12 സെഖര്യാവു അവനെ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചു ഭയപരവശനായി. | 12 और जकरयाह देखकर घबराया और उस पर बड़ा भय छा गया। |
| 13 But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. | 13 ദൂതൻ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: സെഖര്യാവേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥനെക്കു ഉത്തരമായി: നിന്റെ ഭാര്യ എലീശബെത്ത് നിനക്കു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു പേർ ഇടേണം. | 13 परन्तु स्वर्गदूत ने उस से कहा, हे जकरयाह, भयभीत न हो क्योंकि तेरी प्रार्यना सुन ली गई है और तेरी पत्नी इलीशिबा से तेरे लिथे एक पुत्र उत्पन्न होगा, और तू उसका नाम यूहन्ना रखना। |
| 14 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, | 14 നിനക്കു സന്തോഷവും ഉല്ലാസവും ഉണ്ടാകും; അവന്റെ ജനനത്തിങ്കൽ പലരും സന്തോഷിക്കും. | 14 और तुझे आनन्द और हर्ष होगा: और बहुत लोग उसके जन्क़ के कारण आनन्दित होंगे। |
| 15 for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. | 15 അവൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വലിയവൻ ആകും; വീഞ്ഞും മദ്യവും കുടിക്കയില്ല; അമ്മയുടെ ഗർഭത്തിൽവെച്ചു തന്നേ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു നിറയും. | 15 क्योंकि वह प्रभु के साम्हने महान होगा; और दाखरस और मदिरा कभी न पिएगा; और अपक्की माता के गर्भ ही से पवित्र आत्क़ा से परिपूर्ण हो जाएगा। |
| 16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, | 16 അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിൽ പലരെയും അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിച്ചുവരുത്തും. | 16 और इस्राएलियोंमें से बहुतेरोंको उन के प्रभु परमेश्वर की ओर फेरेगा। |
| 17 and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared." | 17 അവൻ അപ്പന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ മക്കളിലേക്കും വഴങ്ങാത്തവരെ നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ ബോധത്തിലേക്കും തിരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ഒരുക്കമുള്ളോരു ജനത്തെ കർത്താവിന്നുവേണ്ടി ഒരുക്കുവാൻ അവന്നു മുമ്പായി ഏലീയാവിന്റെ ആത്മാവോടും ശക്തിയോടും കൂടെ നടക്കും. | 17 वह एलिय्याह की आत्क़ा और सामर्य में हो कर उसके आगे आगे चलेगा, कि पितरोंका मन लड़केबालोंकी ओर फेर दे; और आज्ञा न माननेवालोंको धमिर्योंकी समझ पर लाए; और प्रभु के लिथे एक योग्य प्रजा तैयार करे। |
| 18 And Zechariah said to the angel, "How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years." | 18 സെഖര്യാവു ദൂതനോടു; ഇതു ഞാൻ എന്തൊന്നിനാൽ അറിയും? ഞാൻ വൃദ്ധനും എന്റെ ഭാര്യ വയസ്സുചെന്നവളുമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 18 जकरयाह ने स्वर्गदूत से पूछा; यह मैं कैसे जानूं क्योंकि मैं तो बूढ़ा हूं; और मेरी पत्नी भी बूढ़ी हो गई है। |
| 19 And the angel answered him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. | 19 ദൂതൻ അവനോടു: ഞാൻ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്ന ഗബ്രീയേൽ ആകുന്നു; നിന്നോടു സംസാരിപ്പാനും ഈ സദ്വർത്തമാനം നിന്നോടു അറിയിപ്പാനും എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. | 19 स्वर्गदूत ने उस को उत्तर दिया, कि मैं जिब्राईल हूं, जो परमेश्वर के साम्हने खड़ा रहता हूं; और मैं तुझ से बातें करने और तुझे यह सुसमाचार सुनाने को भेजा गया हूं। |
| 20 And behold, you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time." | 20 തക്കസമയത്തു നിവൃത്തിവരുവാനുള്ള എന്റെ ഈ വാക്കു വിശ്വസിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അതു സംഭവിക്കുവരെ നീ സംസാരിപ്പാൻ കഴിയാതെ മൌനമായിരിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. | 20 और देख जिस दिन तक थे बातें पूरी न हो लें, उस दिन तक तू मौन रहेगा, और बोल न सकेगा, इसलिथे कि तू ने मेरी बातोंकी जो अपके समय पर पूरी होंगी, प्रतीति न की। |
| 21 And the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they were wondering at his delay in the temple. | 21 ജനം സെഖര്യാവിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു, അവൻ മന്ദിരത്തിൽ താമസിച്ചതിനാൽ ആശ്ചര്യപെട്ടു. | 21 और लोग जकरयाह की बाट देखते रहे और अचम्भा करने लगे कि उसे मन्दिर में ऐसी देर क्योंलगी |
| 22 And when he came out, he was unable to speak to them, and they realized that he had seen a vision in the temple. And he kept making signs to them and remained mute. | 22 അവൻ പുറത്തു വന്നാറെ അവരോടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതിനാൽ അവൻ മന്ദിരത്തിൽ ഒരു ദർശനം കണ്ടു എന്നു അവർ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവൻ അവർക്കു ആഗ്യം കാട്ടി ഊമനായി പാർത്തു. | 22 जब वह बाहर आया, तो उन से बोल न सका: सो वे जान गए, कि उस ने मन्दिर में कोई दर्शन पाया है; और व उन से संकेत करता रहा, और गूंगा रह गया। |

| 24 After these days his wife Elizabeth conceived, and for five months she kept herself hidden, saying, | 24 ആ നാളുകൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ എലീശബെത്ത് ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു: | 24 इन दिनोंके बाद उस की पत्नी इलीशिबा गर्भवती हुई; और पांच महीने तक अपके आप को यह कह के छिपाए रखा। |
| 25 "Thus the Lord has done for me in the days when he looked on me, to take away my reproach among people." | 25 മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ എനിക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന നിന്ദ നീക്കുവാൻ കർത്താവു എന്നെ കടാക്ഷിച്ച നാളിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ എനിക്കു ചെയ്തുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അഞ്ചു മാസം ഒളിച്ചു പാർത്തു. | 25 कि मनुष्योंमें मेरा अपमान दूर करने के लिथे प्रभु ने इन दिनोंमें कृपादृष्टि करके मेरे लिथे ऐसा किया है।। |
| 26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, | 26 ആറാം മാസത്തിൽ ദൈവം ഗബ്രീയേൽദൂതനെ നസറെത്ത് എന്ന ഗലീലപട്ടണത്തിൽ, | 26 छठवें महीने में परमेश्वर की ओर से जिब्राईल स्वर्गदूत गलील के नासरत नगर में एक कुंवारी के पास भेजा गया। |
| 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. | 27 ദാവീദുഗൃഹത്തിലുള്ള യോസേഫ് എന്നൊരു പുരുഷന്നു വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന കന്യകയുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; ആ കന്യകയുടെ പേർ മറിയ എന്നു ആയിരുന്നു. | 27 जिस की मंगनी यूसुफ नाम दाऊद के घराने के एक पुरूष से हुई यी: उस कुंवारी का नाम मरियम या। |
| 28 And he came to her and said, "Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!" | 28 ദൂതൻ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അകത്തു ചെന്നു: കൃപലഭിച്ചവളേ, നിനക്കു വന്ദനം; കർത്താവു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 28 और स्वर्गदूत ने उसके पास भीतर आकर कहा; आनन्द और जय तेरी हो, जिस पर ईश्वर का अनुग्रह हुआ है, प्रभु तेरे साय है। |
| 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. | 29 അവൾ ആ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചു: ഇതു എന്തൊരു വന്ദനം എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു. | 29 वह उस वचन से बहुत घबरा गई, और सोचने लगी, कि यह किस प्रकार का अभिवादन है |
| 30 And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. | 30 ദൂതൻ അവളോടു: മറിയയേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നിനക്കു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൃപ ലഭിച്ചു. | 30 स्वर्गदूत ने उस से कहा, हे मरियम; भयभीत न हो, क्योंकि परमेश्वर का अनुग्रह तुझ पर हुआ है। |
| 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. | 31 നീ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവന്നു യേശു എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്കേണം. | 31 और देख, तू गर्भवती होगी, और तेरे एक पुत्र उत्पन्न होगा; तू उसका नाम यीशु रखना। |
| 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, | 32 അവൻ വലിയവൻ ആകും; അത്യുന്നതന്റെ പുത്രൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; കർത്താവായ ദൈവം അവന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം അവന്നു കൊടുക്കും | 32 वह महान होगा; और परमप्रधान का पुत्र कहलाएगा; और प्रभु परमेश्वर उसके पिता दाऊद का सिंहासन उस को देगा। |
| 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end." | 33 അവൻ യാക്കോബുഗൃഹത്തിന്നു എന്നേക്കും രാജാവായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിന്നു അവസാനം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 33 और वह याकूब के घराने पर सदा राज्य करेगा; और उसके राज्य का अन्त न होगा। |
| 34 And Mary said to the angel, "How will this be, since I am a virgin?" | 34 മറിയ ദൂതനോടു: ഞാൻ പുരുഷനെ അറിയായ്കയാൽ ഇതു എങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 34 मरियम ने स्वर्गदूत से कहा, यह क्योंकर होगा मैं तो पुरूष को जानती ही नहीं। |
| 35 And the angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy--the Son of God. | 35 അതിന്നു ദൂതൻ: പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിന്റെ മേൽ വരും; അത്യുന്നതന്റെ ശക്തി നിന്റെ മേൽ നിഴലിടും; ആകയാൽ ഉത്ഭവിക്കുന്ന വിശുദ്ധപ്രജ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും. | 35 स्वर्गदूत ने उस को उत्तर दिया; कि पवित्र आत्क़ा तुझ पर उतरेगा, और परमप्रधान की सामर्य तुझ पर छाया करेगी इसलिथे वह पवित्र जो उत्पन्न होनेवाला है, परमेश्वर का पुत्र कहलाएगा। |
| 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. | 36 നിന്റെ ചാർച്ചക്കാരത്തി എലീശബെത്തും വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ ഒരു മകനെ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മച്ചി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുവന്നവൾക്കു ഇതു ആറാം മാസം. | 36 और देख, और तेरी कुटुम्बिनी इलीशिबा के भी बुढ़ापे में पुत्र होनेवाला है, यह उसका, जो बांफ कहलाती यी छठवां महीना है। |
| 37 For nothing will be impossible with God." | 37 ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഒരു കാര്യവും അസാദ്ധ്യമല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. | 37 क्योंकि जो वचन परमेश्वर की ओर से होता है वह प्रभावरिहत नहीं होता। |
| 38 And Mary said, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her. | 38 അതിന്നു മറിയ: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ ദാസി; നിന്റെ വാക്കുപോലെ എനിക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ദൂതൻ അവളെ വിട്ടുപോയി. | 38 मरियम ने कहा, देख, मैं प्रभु की दासी हूं, मुझे तेरे वचन के अनुसार हो: तब स्वर्गदूत उसके पास से चला गया।। |
| 39 In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, | 39 ആ നാളുകളിൽ മറിയ എഴുന്നേറ്റു മല നാട്ടിൽ ഒരു യെഹൂദ്യപട്ടണത്തിൽ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നു, | 39 उन दिनोंमें मरियम उठकर शीघ्र ही पहाड़ी देश में यहूदा के एक नगर को गई। |
| 40 and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. | 40 സെഖര്യാവിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ എത്തി എലീശബെത്തിനെ വന്ദിച്ചു. | 40 और जकरयाह के घर में जाकर इलीशिबा को नमस्कार किया। |
| 41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, | 41 മറിയയുടെ വന്ദനം എലീശബെത്ത് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ പിള്ള അവളുടെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ തുള്ളി; എലീശബെത്ത് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവളായി, | 41 ज्योंही इलीशिबा ने मरियम का नमस्कार सुना, त्योंही बच्चा उसके पेट में उछला, और इलीशिबा पवित्र आत्क़ा से परिपूर्ण हो गई। |
| 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! | 42 ഉച്ചത്തിൽ വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: സ്ത്രീകളിൽ നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൾ; നിന്റെ ഗർഭ ഫലവും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു: | 42 और उस ने बड़े शब्द से पुकार कर कहा, तू स्त्रियोंमें धन्य है, और तेरे पेट का फल धन्य है। |
| 43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? | 43 എന്റെ കർത്താവിന്റെ മാതാവു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്ന മാനം എനിക്കു എവിടെ നിന്നു ഉണ്ടായി. | 43 और यह अनुग्रह मुझे कहां से हुआ, कि मेरे प्रभु की माता मेरे पास आई |
| 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. | 44 നിന്റെ വന്ദനസ്വരം എന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ വീണപ്പോൾ പിള്ള എന്റെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ആനന്ദംകൊണ്ടു തുള്ളി. | 44 और देख ज्योंही तेरे नमस्कार का शब्द मेरे कानोंमें पड़ा त्योंही बच्चा मेरे पेट में आनन्द से उछल पड़ा। |
| 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord." | 45 കർത്താവു തന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതിന്നു നിവൃത്തിയുണ്ടാകും എന്നു വിശ്വസിച്ചവൾ ഭാഗ്യവതി. | 45 और धन्य है, वह जिस ने विश्वास किया कि जो बातें प्रभु की ओर से उस से कही गई, वे पूरी होंगी। |

| 66 and all who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, "What then will this child be?"
