| 3 Then her husband arose and went after her, to speak kindly to her and bring her back. He had with him his servant and a couple of donkeys. And she brought him into her father's house. | 4 And his father-in-law, the girl's father, made him stay, and he remained with him three days. | 6 So the two of them sat and ate and drank together. | 8 And on the fifth day he arose early in the morning to depart. And the girl's father said, "Strengthen your heart and wait until the day declines." | 9 And when the man and his concubine and his servant rose up to depart, his father-in-law, the girl's father, said to him, "Behold, now the day has waned toward evening. Please, spend the night. Behold, the day draws to its close. | 10 But the man would not spend the night. He rose up and departed and arrived opposite Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). | 14 So they passed on and went their way. | 15 and they turned aside there, to go in and spend the night at Gibeah. | 16 And behold, an old man was coming from his work in the field at evening. The man was from the hill country of Ephraim, and he was sojourning in Gibeah. | 17 And he lifted up his eyes and saw the traveler in the open square of the city. And the old man said, "Where are you going? and where do you come from?" | 17 വൃദ്ധൻ തലയുയർത്തി നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ നഗരവീഥിയിൽ വഴിയാത്രക്കാരനെ കണ്ടു: നീ എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു? എവിടേക്കു പോകുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. | 17 उस ने आंखें उठाकर उस यात्री को नगर के चौक में बैठे देखा; और उस बूढ़े ने पूछा, तू किधर जाता, और कहां से आता है? |
| 18 And he said to him, "We are passing from Bethlehem in Judah to the remote parts of the hill country of Ephraim, from which I come. | 19 We have straw and feed for our donkeys, with bread and wine for me and your female servant and the young man with your servants. | 20 And the old man said, "Peace be to you; I will care for all your wants. Only, do not spend the night in the square." | 20 അതിന്നു വൃദ്ധൻ: നിനക്കു സമാധാനം; നിനക്കു വേണ്ടതൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ തരും; വീഥിയിൽ രാപാർക്കമാത്രമരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, | 20 बूढ़े ने कहा, तेरा कल्याण हो; तेरे प्रयोजन की सब वस्तुएं मेरे सिर हों; परन्तु रात को चौक में न बिता। |
| 21 So he brought him into his house and gave the donkeys feed. | 22 As they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, worthless fellows, surrounded the house, beating on the door. | 24 Behold, here are my virgin daughter and his concubine. Let me bring them out now. Violate them and do with them what seems good to you, but against this man do not do this outrageous thing." | 24 ഇതാ, കന്യകയായ എന്റെ മകളും ഈയാളുടെ വെപ്പാട്ടിയും ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടു; അവരെ ഞാൻ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരാം; അവരെ എടുത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ബോധിച്ചതുപോലെ അവരോടു ചെയ്‍വിൻ; ഈ ആളോടോ ഈവക വഷളത്വം പ്രവർത്തിക്കരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 24 देखा, यहां मेरी कुंवारी बेटी है, और इस पुरूष की सुरैतिन भी है; उनको मैं बाहर ले आऊंगा। और उनका पत-पानी लो तो लो, और उन से तो जो चाहो सो करो; परन्तु इस पुरूष से ऐसी मूढ़ता का काम मत करो। |
| 25 But the men would not listen to him. So the man seized his concubine and made her go out to them. And they knew her and abused her all night until the morning. | 26 And as morning appeared, the woman came and fell down at the door of the man's house where her master was, until it was light. | 26 പ്രഭാതത്തിങ്കൽ സ്ത്രീ വന്നു തന്റെ യജമാനൻ പാർത്ത ആ പുരുഷന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽ വീണുകിടന്നു. | 26 तब वह स्त्री पह फटते हुए जाके उस मनुष्य के घर के द्वार पर जिस में उसका पति या गिर गई, और उजियाले के होने तक वहीं पक्की रही। |
| 27 And her master rose up in the morning, and when he opened the doors of the house and went out to go on his way, behold, there was his concubine lying at the door of the house, with her hands on the threshold. | 27 അവളുടെ യജമാനൻ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വീട്ടിന്റെ വാതിൽ തുറന്നു തന്റെ വഴിക്കു പോകുവാൻ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, അവന്റെ വെപ്പാട്ടി വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽ കൈ ഉമ്മരപ്പടിമേലായി വീണുകിടക്കുന്നു. | 27 सवेरे जब उसका पति उठ, घर का द्वार खोल, अपना मार्ग लेने को बाहर गया, तो क्या देखा, कि मेरी सुरैतिन घर के द्वार के पास डेवढ़ी पर हाथ फैलाए हुए पक्की है। |
| 28 He said to her, "Get up, let us be going." But there was no answer. | 30 And all who saw it said, "Such a thing has never happened or been seen from the day that the people of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt until this day; consider it, take counsel, and speak." | 30 അതു കണ്ടവർ എല്ലാവരും: യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്ന നാൾ മുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തി നടന്നിട്ടില്ല, കണ്ടിട്ടുമില്ല; ഇതിനെപ്പറ്റി ചിന്തിച്ചു ആലോചിച്ചു അഭിപ്രായം പറവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 30 जितनोंने उसे देखा, वे सब आपस में कहने लगे, इस्राएलियोंके मिस्र देश मे चले आने के समय से लेकर आज के दिन तक ऐसा कुछ कभी नहीं हुआ, और न देखा गया; सो इसको सोचकर सम्मति करो, और बताओ।। |
