| 1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior, but he was the son of a prostitute. | 2 And Gilead's wife also bore him sons. | 7 But Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "Did you not hate me and drive me out of my father's house? | 11 So Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and leader over them. And Jephthah spoke all his words before the LORD at Mizpah. | 11 അങ്ങനെ യിഫ്താഹ് ഗിലെയാദിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പോയി; ജനം അവനെ തലവനും സേനാപതിയുമാക്കി; യിഫ്താഹ് മിസ്പയിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ തന്റെ കാര്യമെല്ലാം പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു. | 11 तब यिप्तह गिलाद के वृद्ध लोगोंके संग चला, और लोगोंने उसको अपके ऊपर मुखिया और प्रधान ठहराया; और यिप्तह ने अपक्की सब बातें मिस्पा में यहोवा के सम्मुख कह सुनाई।। |
| 12 Then Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites and said, "What do you have against me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?" | 12 അനന്തരം യിഫ്താഹ് അമ്മോന്യരുടെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: നീ എന്നോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്‍വാൻ എന്റെ ദേശത്തു വരേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടു നിനക്കെന്തു കാര്യം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു. | 12 तब यिप्तह ने अम्मोनियोंके राजा के पास दूतोंसे यह कहला भेजा, कि तुझे मुझ से क्या काम, कि तू मेरे देश में लड़ने को आया है? |

| 15 and said to him, "Thus says Jephthah: Israel did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites, | 15 അവനോടു പറയിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ: യിഫ്താഹ് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുന്നു; | 15 कि यिप्तह तुझ से योंकहता है, कि इस्राएल ने न तो मोआब का देश ले लिया और न अम्मोनियोंका, |

| 17 Israel then sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, 'Please let us pass through your land,' but the king of Edom would not listen. And they sent also to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. | 18 "Then they journeyed through the wilderness and went around the land of Edom and the land of Moab and arrived on the east side of the land of Moab and camped on the other side of the Arnon. | 20 but Sihon did not trust Israel to pass through his territory, so Sihon gathered all his people together and encamped at Jahaz and fought with Israel. | 20 എങ്കിലും സീഹോൻ യിസ്രായേൽ തന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവരെ വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ ഒക്കെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി, യഹസിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി യിസ്രായേലിനോടു പടയേറ്റു. | 20 परन्तु सीहोन ने इस्राएल का इतना विश्वास न किया कि उसे अपके देश में से होकर जाने देता; वरन अपक्की सारी प्रजा को इकट्ठी कर अपके डेरे यहस में खड़े करके इस्राएल से लड़ा। |
| 21 And the LORD, the God of Israel, gave Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they defeated them. So Israel took possession of all the land of the Amorites, who inhabited that country. | 21 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സീഹോനെയും അവന്റെ സകലജനത്തെയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അവർ അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽ ആ ദേശനിവാസികളായ അമോർയ്യരുടെ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും കൈവശമാക്കി. | 21 और इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा ने सीहोन को सारी प्रजा समेत इस्राएल के हाथ में कर दिया, और उन्होंने उनको मार लिया; इसलिथे इस्राएल उस देश के निवासी एमोरियोंके सारे देश का अधिक्कारनेी हो गया। |
| 22 And they took possession of all the territory of the Amorites from the Arnon to the Jabbok and from the wilderness to the Jordan. | 22 അർന്നോൻ മുതൽ യബ്ബോക് വരെയും മരുഭൂമിയിൽ യോർദ്ദാൻ വരെയുമുള്ള അമോർയ്യരുടെ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും അവർ പിടിച്ചടക്കി. | 22 अर्यात् वह अनौन से यब्बोक तक और जंगल से ले यरदन तक एमोरियोंके सारे देश का अधिक्कारनेी हो गया। |
| 23 So then the LORD, the God of Israel, dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel; and are you to take possession of them? | 23 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു അമോർയ്യരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ നീ അവരുടെ അവകാശം അടക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്നുവോ? | 23 इसलिथे अब इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा ने अपक्की इस्राएली प्रजा के साम्हने से एमोरियोंको उनके देश से निकाल दिया है; फिर क्या तू उसका अधिक्कारनेी होने पाएगा? |
| 24 Will you not possess what Chemosh your god gives you to possess? | 25 Now are you any better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? | 27 I therefore have not sinned against you, and you do me wrong by making war on me. | 28 But the king of the Ammonites did not listen to the words of Jephthah that he sent to him. | 28 എന്നാൽ യിഫ്താഹ് പറഞ്ഞയച്ച വാക്കു അമ്മോന്യരുടെ രാജാവു കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല. | 28 तौभी अम्मोनियोंके राजा ने यिप्तह की थे बातें न मानीं जिनको उस ने कहला भेजा या।। |
| 29 Then the Spirit of the LORD was upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh and passed on to Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he passed on to the Ammonites. | 29 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു യിഫ്താഹിൻ മേൽ വന്നു; അവൻ ഗിലെയാദിലും മനശ്ശെയിലും കൂടി കടന്നു ഗിലെയാദിലെ മിസ്പയിൽ എത്തി ഗിലെയാദിലെ മിസ്പയിൽനിന്നു അമ്മോന്യരുടെ നേരെ ചെന്നു. | 29 तब यहोवा का आत्मा यिप्तह में समा गया, और वह गिलाद और मनश्शे से होकर गिलाद के मिस्पे में आया, और गिलाद के मिस्पे से होकर अम्मोनियोंकी ओर चला। |
| 30 And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD and said, "If you will give the Ammonites into my hand, | 30 യിഫ്താഹ് യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു നേർച്ച നേർന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ അമ്മോന്യരെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ | 30 और यिप्तह ने यह कहकर यहोवा की मन्नत मानी, कि यदि तू नि:सन्देह अम्मोनियोंको मेरे हाथ में कर दे, |
| 31 then whatever comes out from the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the Ammonites shall be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering." | 31 ഞാൻ അമ്മോന്യരെ ജയിച്ചു സമാധാനത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ എന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽനിന്നു എന്നെ എതിരേറ്റുവരുന്നതു യഹോവെക്കുള്ളതാകും; അതു ഞാൻ ഹോമയാഗമായി അർപ്പിക്കും. | 31 तो जब मैं कुशल के साय अम्मोनियोंके पास से लौट आऊं तब जो कोई मेरे भेंट के लिथे मेरे घर के द्वार से निकले वह यहोवा का ठहरेगा, और मैं उसे होमबलि करके चढ़ाऊंगा। |
| 32 So Jephthah crossed over to the Ammonites to fight against them, and the LORD gave them into his hand. | 32 ഇങ്ങനെ യിഫ്താഹ് അമ്മോന്യരോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്‍വാൻ അവരുടെ നേരെ ചെന്നു; യഹോവ അവരെ അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു. | 32 तब यिप्तह अम्मोनियोंसे लड़ने को उनकी ओर गया; और यहोवा ने उनको उसके हाथ में कर दिया। |
| 33 And he struck them from Aroer to the neighborhood of Minnith, twenty cities, and as far as Abel-keramim, with a great blow.
