| 2 "Say in the ears of all the leaders of Shechem, 'Which is better for you, that all seventy of the sons of Jerubbaal rule over you, or that one rule over you?' | 5 And he went to his father's house at Ophrah and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, on one stone. | 25 And the leaders of Shechem put men in ambush against him on the mountaintops, and they robbed all who passed by them along that way. | 28 And Gaal the son of Ebed said, "Who is Abimelech, and who are we of Shechem, that we should serve him? Is he not the son of Jerubbaal, and is not Zebul his officer? | 29 Would that this people were under my hand! Then I would remove Abimelech. | 32 Now therefore, go by night, you and the people who are with you, and set an ambush in the field. | 32 ആകയാൽ നീയും നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള പടജ്ജനവും രാത്രിയിൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വയലിൽ പതിയിരിന്നുകൊൾവിൻ. | 32 इसलिथे तू अपके संगवालोंसमेत रात को उठकर मैदान में घात लगा। |
| 33 Then in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, rise early and rush upon the city. And when he and the people who are with him come out against you, you may do to them as your hand finds to do." | 33 രാവിലെ സൂര്യൻ ഉദിക്കുമ്പോൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പട്ടണത്തെ ആക്രമിക്ക; എന്നാൽ അവനും കൂടെയുള്ള പടജ്ജനവും നിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ തരംപോലെ അവരോടു പ്രവർത്തിക്കാം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു. | 33 फिर बिहान को सवेरे सूर्य के निकलते ही उठकर इस नगर पर चढ़ाई करना; और जब वह अपके संगवालोंसमेत तेरा साम्हना करने को निकले तब जो तुझ से बन पके वही उस से करना।। |
| 34 So Abimelech and all the men who were with him rose up by night and set an ambush against Shechem in four companies. | 34 അങ്ങനെ അബീമേലെക്കും കൂടെയുള്ള പടജ്ജനമൊക്കെയും രാത്രിയിൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ശെഖേമിന്നരികെ നാലു കൂട്ടമായി പതിയിരുന്നു. | 34 तब अबीमेलेक और उसके संग के सब लोग रात को उठ चार फुण्ड बान्धकर शकेम के विरूद्ध घात में बैठ गए। |
| 35 And Gaal the son of Ebed went out and stood in the entrance of the gate of the city, and Abimelech and the people who were with him rose from the ambush. | 35 ഏബെദിന്റെ മകനായ ഗാൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കൽ നിന്നപ്പോൾ അബീമേലെക്കും കൂടെ ഉള്ള പടജ്ജനവും പതിയിരിപ്പിൽനിന്നു എഴുന്നേറ്റു. | 35 और एबेद का पुत्र गाल बाहर जाकर नगर के फाटक में खड़ा हुआ; तब अबीमेलेक और उसके संगी घात छोड़कर उठ खड़े हुए। |
| 36 And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, "Look, people are coming down from the mountaintops!" | 37 Gaal spoke again and said, "Look, people are coming down from the center of the land, and one company is coming from the direction of the Diviners' Oak." | 37 ഗാൽ പിന്നെയും: അതാ, പടജ്ജനം ദേശമദ്ധ്യേ ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നു; മറ്റൊരു കൂട്ടവും പ്രാശ്നികന്മാരുടെ കരുവേലകത്തിന്റെ സമീപത്തുകൂടി വരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 37 गाल ने फिर कहा, देख, लोग देश के बीचोंबीच होकर उतरे आते हैं, और एक फुण्ड मोननीम नाम बांज वृझ के मार्ग से चला आता है। |
| 38 Then Zebul said to him, "Where is your mouth now, you who said, 'Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?' Are not these the people whom you despised? | 39 And Gaal went out at the head of the leaders of Shechem and fought with Abimelech. | 39 അങ്ങനെ ഗാൽ ശെഖേംപൌരന്മാരുമായി പുറപ്പെട്ടു അബീമേലക്കിനോടു പടവെട്ടി. | 39 तब गाल शकेम के पुरूषोंका अगुवा हो बाहर निकलकर अबीमेलेक से लड़ा। |
| 40 And Abimelech chased him, and he fled before him. And many fell wounded, up to the entrance of the gate. | 40 അബീമേലെക്കിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ അവൻ തോറ്റോടി; അവൻ അവനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു പടിവാതിൽവരെ അനേകംപേർ ഹതന്മാരായി വീണു. | 40 और अबीमेलेक ने उसको खदेड़ा, और अबीमेलेक के साम्हने से भागा; और नगर के फाटक तक पहुंचते पहुंचते बहुतेरे घायल होकर गिर पके। |
| 41 And Abimelech lived at Arumah, and Zebul drove out Gaal and his relatives, so that they could not dwell at Shechem. | 41 അബീമേലെക്ക് അരൂമയിൽ താമസിച്ചു; സെബൂൽ ഗാലിനെയും സഹോദരന്മാരെയും ശെഖേമിൽ പാർപ്പാൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ അവിടെനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു. | 41 तब अबीमेलेक अरूमा में रहने लगा; और जबूल ने गाल और उसके भाइयोंको निकाल दिया, और शकेम में रहने न दिया। |
| 42 On the following day, the people went out into the field, and Abimelech was told. | 42 പിറ്റെന്നാൾ ജനം വയലിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അബീമേലെക്കിന്നു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അറിവുകിട്ടി. | 42 दूसरे दिन लोग मैदान में निकल गए; और यह अबीमेलेक को बताया गया। |
| 43 He took his people and divided them into three companies and set an ambush in the fields. And he looked and saw the people coming out of the city. So he rose against them and killed them. | 43 അവൻ പടജ്ജനത്തെ കൂട്ടി മൂന്നു കൂട്ടമായി ഭാഗിച്ചു വയലിൽ പതിയിരുന്നു; ജനം പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരുടെ നേരെ ചെന്നു അവരെ സംഹരിച്ചു. | 43 और उस ने अपक्की सेना के तीन दल बान्धकर मैदान में घात लगाई; और जब देखा कि लोग नगर से निकले आते हैं तब उन पर चढ़ाई करके उन्हें मार लिया। |
| 44 Abimelech and the company that was with him rushed forward and stood at the entrance of the gate of the city, while the two companies rushed upon all who were in the field and killed them. | 44 പിന്നെ അബീമേലെക്കും കൂടെയുള്ള കൂട്ടവും പാഞ്ഞുചെന്നു പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ പടിവാതിൽക്കൽ നിന്നു; മറ്റെ കൂട്ടം രണ്ടും വയലിലുള്ള സകലജനത്തിന്റെയും നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുചെന്നു അവരെ സംഹരിച്ചു. | 44 अबीमेलेक अपके संग के दलोंसमेत आगे दौड़कर नगर के फाटक पर खड़ा हो गया, और दो दलोंने उन सब लोगोंपर धावा करके जो मैदान में थे उन्हें मार डाला। |
| 45 And Abimelech fought against the city all that day. He captured the city and killed the people who were in it, and he razed the city and sowed it with salt. | 45 അബീമേലെക്ക് അന്നു മുഴുവനും പട്ടണത്തോടു പൊരുതു പട്ടണം പിടിച്ചു അതിലെ ജനത്തെ കൊന്നു, പട്ടണത്തെ ഇടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു അതിൽ ഉപ്പു വിതറി. | 45 उसी दिन अबीमेलेक ने नगर से दिन भर लड़कर उसको ले दिया, और उसके लोगोंको घात करके नगर को ढा दिया, और उस पर नमक छिड़कवा दिया।। |
| 46 When all the leaders of the Tower of Shechem heard of it, they entered the stronghold of the house of El-berith. | 46 ശെഖേംഗോപുരവാസികൾ എല്ലാവരും ഇതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ഏൽബെരീത്തിന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രമണ്ഡപത്തിൽ കടന്നു. | 46 यह सुनकर शकेम के गुम्मट के सब रहनेवाले एलबरीत के मन्दिर के गढ़ में जा घुसे। |
| 47 Abimelech was told that all the leaders of the Tower of Shechem were gathered together. | 47 ശെഖേംഗോപുരവാസികൾ എല്ലാവരും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അബീമേലെക്കിന്നു അറിവുകിട്ടി. | 47 जब अबीमेलेक को यह समाचार मिला कि शकेम के गुम्मट के सब मनुष्य इकट्ठे हुए हैं, |
| 48 And Abimelech went up to Mount Zalmon, he and all the people who were with him. And Abimelech took an axe in his hand and cut down a bundle of brushwood and took it up and laid it on his shoulder. And he said to the men who were with him, "What you have seen me do, hurry and do as I have done." | 48 അബീമേലെക്കും കൂടെയുള്ള പടജ്ജനമൊക്കെയും സല്മോൻമലയിൽ കയറി; അബീമേലെക്ക് കോടാലി എടുത്തു ഒരു മരക്കൊമ്പു വെട്ടി ചുമലിൽ വെച്ചു, തന്റെ പടജ്ജനത്തോടു: ഞാൻ ചെയ്തതു നോക്കി നിങ്ങളും വേഗം അതുപോലെ ചെയ്‍വിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. | 48 तब वह अपके सब संगियोंसमेत सलमोन नाम पहाड़ पर चढ़ गया; और हाथ में कुल्हाड़ी ले पेड़ोंमें से एक डाली काटी, ओर उसे उठाकर अपके कन्धे पर रख ली। और अपके संगवालोंसे कहा कि जैसा तुम ने मुझे करते देखा वैसा ही तुम भी फटपट करो। |
| 49 So every one of the people cut down his bundle and following Abimelech put it against the stronghold, and they set the stronghold on fire over them, so that all the people of the Tower of Shechem also died, about 1,000 men and women. | 49 പടജ്ജനമെല്ലാം അതുപോലെ ഓരോരുത്തൻ ഓരോ കൊമ്പു വെട്ടി അബീമേലെക്കിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു മണ്ഡപത്തിന്നരികെ ഇട്ടു തീ കൊടുത്തു മണ്ഡപത്തോടു കൂടെ അവരെ ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ശെഖേംഗോപുരവാസികളൊക്കെയും പുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളുമായി ഏകദേശം ആയിരം പേർ മരിച്ചുപോയി. | 49 तब उन सब लोगोंने भी एक एक डाली काट ली, और अबीमेलेक के पीछे हो उनको गढ़ पर डालकर गढ़ में आग लगाई; तब शकेम के गुम्मट के सब स्त्री पुरूष जो अटकल एक हजार थे मर गए।। |
| 50 Then Abimelech went to Thebez and encamped against Thebez and captured it. | 50 അനന്തരം അബീമേലെക്ക് തേബെസിലേക്കു ചെന്നു തേബെസിന്നു വിരോധമായി പാളയമിറങ്ങി അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു. | 50 तब अबीमेलेक ने तेबेस को जाकर उसके साम्हने डेरे खड़े करके उस को ले लिया। |
| 51 But there was a strong tower within the city, and all the men and women and all the leaders of the city fled to it and shut themselves in, and they went up to the roof of the tower. | 51 പട്ടണത്തിന്നകത്തു ഉറപ്പുള്ള ഒരു ഗോപുരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവിടേക്കു സകലപുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളും പട്ടണത്തിലുള്ളവർ ഒക്കെയും ഓടിക്കടന്നു വാതിൽ അടെച്ചു ഗോപുരത്തിന്റെ മുകളിൽ കയറി. | 51 परन्तु एक नगर के बीच एक दृढ़ गुम्मट या, सो क्या स्त्री पुरूष, नगर के सब लोग भागकर उस में घुसे; और उसे बन्द करके गुम्मट की छत पर चढ़ गए। |
| 52 And Abimelech came to the tower and fought against it and drew near to the door of the tower to burn it with fire. | 52 അബീമേലെക്ക് ഗോപുരത്തിന്നരികെ എത്തി അതിനെ ആക്രമിച്ചു; അതിന്നു തീ കൊടുത്തു ചുട്ടുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഗോപുരവാതിലിന്നടുത്തു ചെന്നു. | 52 तब अबीमेलेक गुम्मट के निकट जाकर उसके विरूद्ध लड़ने लगा, और गुम्मट के द्वार तक गया कि उस में आग लगाए। |
| 53 And a certain woman threw an upper millstone on Abimelech's head and crushed his skull. | 53 അപ്പോൾ ഒരു സ്ത്രീ തിരികല്ലിന്റെ പിള്ള അബീമേലെക്കിന്റെ തലയിൽ ഇട്ടു അവന്റെ തലയോടു തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു. | 53 तब किसी स्त्री ने चक्की के ऊपर का पाट अबीमेलेक के सिर पर डाल दिया, और उसकी खोपक्की फट गई। |
| 54 Then he called quickly to the young man his armor-bearer and said to him, "Draw your sword and kill me, lest they say of me, 'A woman killed him.'" | 55 And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, everyone departed to his home. | 55 അബീമേലെക്ക് മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേല്യർ താന്താങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി. | 55 यह देखकर कि अबीमेलेक मर गया है इस्राएली अपके अपके स्यान को चले गए। |
| 56 Thus God returned the evil of Abimelech, which he committed against his father in killing his seventy brothers. | 56 അബീമേലെക്ക് തന്റെ എഴുപതു സഹോദരന്മാരെ കൊന്നതിനാൽ തന്റെ അപ്പനോടു ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള പാതകത്തിന്നു ദൈവം ഇങ്ങനെ പകരം ചെയ്തു. | 56 इस प्रकार जो दुष्ट काम अबीमेलेक ने अपके सत्तर भाइयोंको घात करके अपके पिता के साय किया या, उसको परमेश्वर ने उसके सिर पर लौटा दिया; |
| 57 And God also made all the evil of the men of Shechem return on their heads, and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal. | 57 ശെഖേംനിവാസികളുടെ സകലപാതകങ്ങളും ദൈവം അവരുടെ തലമേൽ വരുത്തി; അങ്ങനെ യെരുബ്ബാലിന്റെ മകനായ യോഥാമിന്റെ ശാപം അവരുടെമേൽ വന്നു. | 57 और शकेम के पुरूषोंके भी सब दुष्ट काम परमेश्वर ने उनके सिर पर लौटा दिए, और यरूब्बाल के पुत्र योताम का शाप उन पर घट गया।। |
